ARDESIA

Interactive Sound Installation
Chloé Despax, 2017

ARDESIA offers a tactile, poetic and sensorial approach to the mediterranean landscape. Through an interactive installation, visitors are invited to create a subjective sonic composition by touching a mineral slate with their hand, triggering soundscapes relative to the central function of the slate in the everyday lives of the inhabitants of Liguria in Italy. The Genius Loci is thus captured and developed through the process of sonic pareidolia. The slate becomes a vehicle for social interaction and imagination throughout the mediterranean region.
